FAQs

What does a family photoshoot feel like?

I’m passionate about photographing families in a natural and relaxed way – no awkward or forced posing. This is why I choose not to work in a studio setting. Photo sessions can take place either in the comfort of your home or outdoors in one of your favourite locations where your family feel happiest. It’s all about capturing your family just as they are right now: the little moments, childhood milestones and most importantly, all the personality.

How do I book a photoshoot?

First contact me and let me know your preferred photoshoot dates. Once we have agreed a date, I will send you a Q&A of questions so that I can get a visual idea of what you would like your family sessions to look like.

I will issue an invoice and a contract. A non-refundable deposit of 30% is to be paid on signature of the contract. The remaining 70% balance is to be paid by the day of the photo session. Once I have the contract back and have received the deposit, your date is secured. If you have any queries before your session, please feel free to contact me and we can arrange a phone call or zoom call.

I will contact you to confirm the final details of the shoot a couple of days before it takes place to make sure you are comfortable with everything.

Where are you based? Do you travel to photograph families?

I’m based in Hackney in East London, but, I offer photoshoots throughout London and also Essex.

What should we wear?

We all ask ourselves that question for absolutely everything. I recommend that clients wear clothing that they will feel 100% comfortable in. However, I also recommend wearing colours that will compliment the colours of shoot location. For example, if we’re shooting outside amongst lots of greenery, I’d suggest wearing Neutral colours and avoiding clothing with logos.

What happens during the photoshoot?

When I first arrive, I will spend a little bit of time getting to know you and your family, so that you all have a bit of time to feel comfortable around me and relax before I start taking photos. It’s extremely important to settle any nerves that your children may have. I am experienced in working with children born during in lockdown and have an understanding of how overwhelming it can be for them to meet new people.

During the session I will interact with your kids to make them smile or laugh and will give a little bit of direction to you all, to get a few photos of your family looking at the camera. However, my aim is to capture you interacting as a family and little moments as they happen. I will bring a couple of props along with me to help with this.

However, If there’s something you particularly want to me capture then I am happy to take direction from you.

Do you allow pets?

Absolutely! I love all animals and I’m the proud mama to a Mini Lop Rabbit, called Ruggles.

What happens after the photoshoot?

The best photos from your session will be selected and carefully edited. Once the editing has finished, your photos will be delivered via a link to your own private online gallery. Only you and I will have access to this link. The photos will be delivered two weeks from the date of your session.
